The 2012 Oscars Announces the Nominations – Jonah Hill Gets a Nom?

Wow, look at all these movies I’m missing out on (and most of them I’ve never even heard of). The only movie I saw in the “Best Picture” category is War Horse, which I highly enjoyed.

So who’s got the most nominations? That would have to be Hugo, which got 11 nominations including “Best Picture.” The Artist received 10 nominations. A surprise for me was Jonah Hill being nominated for “Best Supporting Actor” in Moneyball. I haven’t seen the movie, but I’m left thinking that the kid in Superbad is getting a nomination. Another surprise for me was Bridesmaids receiving two nominations, one for “Best Original Screenplay” and for Melissa McCarthy as “Best Supporting Actress.” I don’t think that many raunchy comedies get a chance like this. Imagine The Hangover and Harold and Kumar getting a nomination. Crazy, I know.
